West Virginia Interfaith Power & Light is a state affiliate of the national Interfaith Power & Light organization which was founded in 1998. Our West Virginia affiliate began its work in 2015 with informational meetings in Wheeling, Charleston, Huntington, and Beckley, and continued with the sponsorship or co-sponsorship of related events in the Charleston region until we received official status with a seed grant award from the national office in spring 2017. We look forward to expanding the scope of our work and reach as we grow and spread across our beautiful Mountain State!
The mission of WV Interfaith Power & Light is to be faithful stewards of Creation by responding to global warming through the promotion of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, as well as sound environmental practices and policies which place care for our people and planet above profit. Our intention is to protect the earth's ecosystems, safeguard the health of all Creation, and ensure sufficient, sustainable energy for all.
